How to calculate a Life Path number
The calculator reduces the birth month, day, and year separately, then combines those three values. Example: July 20, 1992 becomes month 7, day 20 → 2, and year 1992 → 21 → 3. Then 7 + 2 + 3 = 12 → 3.
This site preserves 11, 22, and 33 when they appear in a component or final reduction. Hans Decoz describes this same separate-component convention in his Life Path calculation instructions. We state the method so you can reproduce it; using a named tradition does not turn the reading into a measured personality result.

Why Life Path calculators can disagree
This calculator reduces the month, day, and year separately before adding. An all-digits shortcut adds every digit in one line. They often reach the same root, but keeping a master number can produce a different displayed result. November 18, 2000 shows why: our method preserves November’s 11 and reaches 22/4; the one-line sum reaches 13/4.
A calculator may also preserve only 11 and 22, preserve 33, or reduce all master numbers. The result can change because the method changed, so record the convention before comparing interpretations.

Do twins have the same Life Path number?
Twins born on the same date have the same Life Path calculation. Their personalities, choices, experiences, and lives are not therefore the same.
Does a Life Path number change after marriage or a name change?
No. It uses the birth date. A name change can affect a name-based numerology calculation, depending on the chosen system.
Do I need a birth time or birthplace?
No. A basic Life Path calculation uses only the full birth date. Birth time and location belong to other systems such as astrology.
What if I do not know my full birth date?
